In a significant boost for enterprise cybersecurity, Dope.security announced that it has secured $16 million in Series A funding. The funding round was led by Google Ventures, with participation from several other prominent venture capital firms.
Dope.security is a California-based start-up company offering a unique enterprise cybersecurity solution. Their Secure Web Gateway (SWG) delivers security directly on the endpoint, even for remote users and hybrid environments. This means that users can access the internet and other online resources with greater security and protection against cyber threats.
“I lived SWG day in and day out,” Kunal Agarwal, Dope’s founder and CEO, said.
“I heard how customers complained about how, when it doesn’t work properly, you don’t have web access at all.”
The funding, according to Agarwal, will be applied to employment, business expansion, and further feature additions to the company’s product.
Later this year, these additional capabilities will include a Dope API, enabling further platform customization and integration, as well as a “zero-trust” layer for organisations needing an extra layer of protection.
A particularly cutting-edge component, the zero-trust layer, will enable organisations to protect their networks and data even in the case of potential insider attacks or compromised endpoints.
This layer will ensure that only trusted entities may access sensitive data or systems because every user, device, and application will be verified and authorised before access to the network or resources.
Several significant businesses already use the fly-direct SWG solution from Dope.security in various sectors, including finance, healthcare, and entertainment.
In the current climate, when remote work and hybrid IT infrastructures are becoming more prevalent, the company’s focus on delivering security directly on the endpoint is considered a significant benefit.
Dope.security is well-positioned to become a significant player in the cybersecurity sector with this fresh funding and its ongoing innovation, assisting organisations around the world to stay secure and protected against a continuously changing range of cyber threats.
